About the Journal

Siyāq & Ansāq Journal for Historical and Human Studies is a biannual, peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Libyan Historical Society. The journal is dedicated to publishing original, high-quality research in history, archaeology, cultural heritage, anthropology, and related humanities disciplines, with a primary focus on Libya, the Maghreb, the Mediterranean, and the wider Arab and African regions.

The journal’s identity revolves around two core concepts: "Siyāq" (Context)—representing the temporal, spatial, and environmental frameworks of historical events—and "Ansāq" (Structures/Patterns)—referring to the underlying intellectual, social, and institutional frameworks that shape human civilization.
